Innovation in sustainable production in the Brazilian semi-arid region
Germina Baixio is a hydro-agricultural infrastructure company for irrigable agriculture projects, with one of its main objectives being sustainable agribusiness development.
Our mission is to transform life in the semi-arid region and contribute to the sustainable socioeconomic growth of the country, through wealth generation and valuing work in the field.
Germina Baixio is part of the Baixio do Irecê irrigation project by Codevasf, covering an area of 105,000 hectares, of which 48,000 are irrigable. The project was conceived in nine stages, with stages 1 and 2 already granted and in the occupancy phase, and stages 3 to 9 taken over by Germina Baixio in an auction held on B3 in June 2022. Stages 3 to 9 cover an area of 50,000 hectares, with 31,500 irrigable. Over the 35-year concession period, Germina Baixio plans to invest about R$1.1 billion and create 180,000 direct and indirect jobs, benefiting over 250,000 people.
